Positions of Responsibility

Positions of Responsibility

We believe in the power of positive role models and the importance of nurturing leadership qualities in our students. We are committed to creating a culture where students can aspire to greatness, embody our core values, and contribute meaningfully to our school community.

Executive Student Leadership Team

Each year, a select group of Year 10 pupils are chosen by our Heads of Year to join the Executive Student Leadership Team. These students exemplify the very best of Dormston School, demonstrating exceptional character, leadership, and commitment to their peers. As members of this team, they have the unique responsibility of supporting and mentoring younger students, particularly those in Years 7 to 9.  They are also instrumental in inspiring their peers to uphold the values that define our school community and act as positive ambassadors for anti- bullying, diversity and well-being as well organising charity and sporting events throughout the year.

Mental Health Ambassadors

We offer students across all year groups the opportunity to serve as Mental Health Ambassadors. These students play a crucial role in promoting mental well-being within the school, providing a listening ear, and offering guidance to those who may be struggling. Through training and ongoing support, our Mental Health Ambassadors are equipped to make a positive impact on the emotional health of their peers.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students. They work proactively to prevent bullying and ensure that everyone feels valued and respected at Dormston School. These ambassadors receive specialised training to recognise, address, and resolve conflicts, making our school a safer place for everyone.

School Council Representatives

Students have the chance to make their voices heard through participation in the School Council. Representatives from each year group are selected to attend regular meetings, where they discuss issues that affect the student body and contribute to the decision-making process at Dormston School. This role empowers students to take an active role in shaping the future of their school.
