If the answer is ‘Yes’ then why not join “Friends of Dormston Community”.
Following our AGM on Thursday 14 November 2019 “Friends of Dormston Community” has now been officially launched. The group decided on the name “Friends of Dormston Community” as they wanted it to feel inclusive so that aunts, uncles, businesses and the wider local community could feel involved and welcome. The elected members were officially voted in and a Constitution has now been adopted.
“Friends of Dormston Community” members will be working, on your behalf, to raise funds for the school and help develop a real sense of community which has Dormston at its heart
The group will be meeting again on Thursday 16 January 2020 to investigate what projects they want to support and we will of course keep you informed of their progress.
Friends of Dormston Community are volunteers and give their time and effort for the benefits of the students so we really hope you will support and get behind them over the coming months. There are currently 12 parents on this committee.
The choice of projects, and how the money is spent on the school is decided directly by Friends of Dormston Community. There are not many groups of this type in Secondary education so we are very lucky to have had the support from parents to set this up.

We are members of 'ParentKind' and you are welcome to become involved as little or as much as you want.
On 10 September 2019 we held an Information Evening and we had enough interest from parents to proceed with setting up this really important group.
On a wet and rainy Tuesday 14 November 2019 we held our first AGM and “Friends of Dormston Community” was officially launched.
