Would you like to join a group of like-minded parents in order to contribute towards supporting Dormston School and its place in the local community?
If the answer is ‘Yes’ then why not join “Friends of Dormston Community”.
Following our AGM on Thursday 14 November 2019 “Friends of Dormston Community” has now been officially launched. The group decided on the name “Friends of Dormston Community” as they wanted it to feel inclusive so that aunts, uncles, businesses and the wider local community could feel involved and welcome. The elected members were officially voted in and a Constitution has now been adopted.
“Friends of Dormston Community” members will be working, on your behalf, to raise funds for the school and help develop a real sense of community which has Dormston at its heart.
Friends of Dormston Community are volunteers and give their time and effort for the benefits of the students so we really hope you will support and get behind them over the coming months. There are currently 12 parents on this committee.
The choice of projects, and how the money is spent on the school is decided directly by Friends of Dormston Community. There are not many groups of this type in Secondary education so we are very lucky to have had the support from parents to set this up.
Please contact Karen Otton, our Parental Communication Engagement Lead on 01384 816395 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in finding out more information.
We are members of 'ParentKind' and you are welcome to become involved as little or as much as you want.
Friends of Dormston Community are pleased to announce that they have re-grouped following the pandemic. They last met on Thursday 13 May 2021 and will be meeting again on Wednesday 16 June 2021. Please see below copies of our Agendas and Minutes if you want to find out more details about the events and ideas we are planning. If you have any ideas for events or areas where you would like to see any fundraising spent please contact email@example.com who will pass these details on to us.
We are currently trying to get a #Pre-loved Uniform Service off the ground and are having a Uniform Drop Off Day on Thursday 27 May 2021 (the same day as our Mufti Day). All proceeds from our Mufti Day will be donated to the local family involved in the recent tragic house fire in Sedgley.
