Student Leadership Teams

Student Leadership Teams

We believe that our younger students should have people they aspire to and can emulate, and we also want to reward students who represent our core values. For this reason, every year our Heads of House select a cohort of Year 10 pupils to be their Student Leadership team for their final year of Secondary school education. Each leadership Team comprises of a Head Boy and Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Girl and between 8 and 12 students to work with them (depending on the size and requirements of the House). The procedure is rigorous and the students make us proud every year with the professional way they conduct their interviews and presentations.

At Dormston School we take great pride in the degree of effort, responsibility and pride our Student Leadership Team show in supporting all aspects of school life – they are much more than exceptional role models for our younger pupils. Each year our teams work tirelessly in terms of peer mentoring, being ambassadors for issues such as bullying and keeping safe, assisting at parents evening, organising Charity reps and supporting form tutors during afternoon preparation and PSHE.

It is a real privilege to be on the Student Leadership Team and they are all issued with grey blazers so that our younger children can easily identify them.
